Getting Past Cheating - Moving Forward After Dealing With A Cheating Wife

My wife cheated and I want to know how long it should be before I can move on and even think about starting a new relationship with another woman

. That's a question that is more common than most people realize. Men often find that they really do like being married. They like the closeness of the relationship. They like the companionship and the home cooked meals most nights aren't bad either.

The problem is that many of these men don't realize that what they miss most is not something that any woman off the street can fill. They miss the woman they were married to. Yes she cheated. No it's not a good thing to do.

But, doing it alone doesn't negate her feelings for you. Finding out that she's done it also doesn't change your feelings for her either. That doesn't mean that they don't change your opinions about your marriage though. For some men it changes everything about what they feel the marriage should be.

So, when Can I Get Over?

So, you are asking how long it will take you to get over a cheating wife. Six months? A year? Would you believe that there isn't really a definite answer to this million dollar question? There are just tons of reasons involved in the situation that you cannot ignore that makes moving on and letting go difficult.

You can't know how long it will take to get over her completely. It's just not possible to predict. That being said, you should be able to go about your life and get through the day without breaking down into tears every time you drive past your bank or walk through your doors in a matter of days or weeks at the most. Other things will take a little longer to work through.

When can I say I am ready to Date again?

Would it be nice if there is an answer to this question? Unfortunately, the house is still divided into two - men who wait a year before they start dating and those who start immediately to get over the pain past.

The answer still lies on the type of man you are. You might go for casual dating. This will give you more time to think about the situation, about the past, about the mistakes that you need to avoid so that you can start a new beginning.

What if I can't Date Again after a Year? While there is no definite time line if you are still unable to move on after a year then maybe the problem is that you're not really ready to move on without your wife and need to get your wife back instead.
