Every girl loves going to the prom. The prom is that one special day every girl eagerly waits from the beginning of the last year of high school. But most girls do not know what to expect when their date picks them up to take them to the prom. Not knowing what to expect usually ends up making most girls feeling anxious and scared. But you should not worry. The following guidelines will help you by preparing you in what to expect at your prom.
Before the day of the prom, you need to decide as to whether you will be going to the prom alone with your date or in a group along with other couples. Getting to the prom alone is usually challenging and if you do not know your date well, it could end up being awkward for the both of you. In order to avoid this, most couples prefer going with others. Carpooling could also help in dividing the amount to be paid for the rented car and you could also get a chance to get comfortable with your date before the actual event.
People usually end up drinking on the night of their prom. Along with getting drunk, having forced sex is also quite common. Make sure that you do not accept any drinks which might be offered to you. First, it is illegal to drink at such an early age and kids, especially boys usually add stuff to the drinks which may cause you harm. Since proms are events where you would not find alcohol, people usually end up bringing their own. It is therefore best to avoid drinking for your own sake.
Having sex is another common thing which people experience on the night of their prom. Most teenage girls have a lot of pressure on them to have sex and end up with their virginity issue. Never let anyone pressurize you into doing something which you do not want to and is not ready for. If you are comfortable with your date, make it clear to him that you are still not ready as sex is something which you would be better off waiting for.
Most girls usually get disappointed by their prom due to having high expectations. It is okay with keeping your expectations high but try keeping them as realistic as possible. Try not to think of the prom as the most amazing night of your life. Instead just take it as it comes and it's a promise you will end up having more fun than you could have imagined!
