The three exams segment includes 642-901 BSCI Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks (90 mins), 642-812 BCMSN Building Cisco Multilayer Switched Networks (90 mins) and 642-871 ARCH Designing Cisco Network Service Architectures (90 mins). The two exams segment consists of 642-892 Composite BSCI Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks and BCMSN Building Cisco Multilayer Switched Networks (120 mins) and 642-871 ARCH Designing Cisco Network Service Architectures (90 mins). To be more precise, the two-exam route actually combines the 642-901 and the 642-812 exams together in the scheme of the 642-892.

The pattern of exams is a mixture of multiple choice, simulations and drag and drop. The length of the question paper and the number of questions depend on the particular exam.
