Once you choose the date for your wedding, start making calls to reserve the location for your wedding as well as your reception. It is also important to reserve a caterer fairly early on as well. Booking a photographer should be next on your list of things to do. Whether you need New York City, Naples, or Fort Lauderdale wedding photographers, you should always look at samples of their work. Different companies offer different types of packages and styles of pictures. Check around and make reservations for the photographer you like best. You don't want to wait till the last minute and end up with a company that you just aren't happy with.

Next you want to focus on announcements. Make sure you draw up a guest list so you know exactly whom you will be inviting and how many announcements you need. This is also a great time to focus on things like flowers, reception menu, the cake, the wedding dress and other important things. One thing that people tend to forget is to register at their favorite stores so people have an easy gift option. Also remember to check on marriage license requirements so you don't have any scary surprises afterward.

Though the list may seem long and scary, this is supposed to be a fun time in your life. Try to enjoy it as much as possible and remember to just take things one at a time. Your special day will be here before you know it.
