Plump the wrinkles from the inside out is what you hear now on all the hype about getting rid of wrinkles around the eyes. It depends on what is in the cream you are using. Again, they all tell us that area around the eyes is very delicate and dry and therefore it must be kept hydrated at all times. It sounds too good to be true.

The only problem with plumping the skin from the inside out is that the ingredient you are using has to be safe and effective. A lot of creams are now using some of the ingredients which are in the Botox injections and these are gatuline and argireline. The latter is of course a peptide but it is much more than that. They dab it on gaily but would you dab on Botox so liberally and all over such a delicate area?

Acetyl Hexapeptide-3 is the chemical name for argireline and it does not come cheap. There is not much research and most of what has been done is biased in that it was organized by the company who makes this particular ingredient. Argireline acts on the neurotransmitters and helps us to relax our facial muscles.

But would you apply a chemical to work on your brain chemicals such as those controlling your appetite, mood and central nervous system? I doubt it and that is why I always steer clear of products with argireline in them.

There is a limit of 10% concentration for this very reason but how do we know what is safe and is it risky to dab it on anywhere, especially around the delicate eye area. This seems a dangerous way of getting rid of wrinkles around the eyes. The skin may become too relaxed and begin to sag and there could be a partial paralysis. We just do not know enough about the safety record of this particular ingredient. There is just not enough independent research which has been done to convince me.

Peptides which work and are safe.

Let me tell you about two peptides which are safe, effective and have been properly researched. They are specially designed for the delicate eye area. If you use these or find them in a cream, go for them. They will not only increase circulation but will strengthen the capillary system so that there is no haemoglobin leaking out which gives those bags under the eyes their awfully unattractive dark color. These ingredients are called Eyeliss and Haloxyl.

Look for natural Vitamin E in any product for getting rid of wrinkles around the eyes as that is one of the most powerful antioxidants used in skincare today.
