So you got a virus on your computer and you need to get rid of it
. The problem is there are new viruses coming out everyday and each virus is different to remove. In addition, the threat level can range from slight annoyance to identity theft and damaging.
What is a virus? The term virus is so loosely used now as there are actually several forms of malware. Malware is short for malicious software and it is any software that you don't want running on your PC. Most people without proper computer protection have some form of malware on their systems without even knowing!

Having an antivirus software running on your computer can save you a lot of time and frustration!
If a protection software can protect you from just one virus attack then it will have already paid for itself. It can take hours to fix an infected computer and sometimes the damage is too extensive that you will have to backup all your data and start fresh to get your computer back to "normal." It will save you time, convenience, frustration, and even money if you need someone to fix it for you.
If you are computer savvy, I suggest you read my post on how to remove viruses manually. It is a good learning experience. You may cause more damage then you start off with so you should feel comfortable with the instructions. Otherwise I really suggest you get a trusted antivirus or security software program.
