. Most of us get sloppy in the way we look and yet the impression we give through our appearance cannot be over stated whether it is at work or at play. Sometimes we moan about having to get fully dressed up for something like a wedding but the strange thing is that when we have made that effort, we actually feel pretty good about ourselves. If you havent got the morning suit for your friends wedding, (and sadly most of us do not have this in our wardrobe), then you find yourself heading for the clothes hire shop. At first you may be reluctant and make nervous jokes but actually, once you get into the swing of it, the experience becomes fun. You surprise yourself and actually get into the game and start to get very choosey about the right shirt, the right colour suit and then all the little accessories to finish the whole ensemble including the correct top hat. Perhaps you have never really considered collar stays; those white plastic things in your occasionally bought new shirt. You may even just keep throwing the shirt in the wash with the collar stays still in the collar. This is a foolish thing to do as the standard proprietary stays in new shirts are invariably plastic and not designed for the washing machine and certainly not designed to be ironed. Those plastic ones are fine for everyday use but once you have done the wedding and you have seen the photographs and been surprised at the tear in your Mothers eye when she says how good you look, maybe its time to take a closer look at the bad habits you have fallen into over the years and take a closer look in particular at your appearance.

Lets start from scratch. Firstly what sort of physical condition are you in? Right; in that case get off your backside and start running. Get rid of that fat and lets lose it over the next few weeks. Whilst you are at it take a look at the different types working in the city. Believe it or not it is very easy to spot the many ex-military types from the others. Their shoes are just that sharper polished their bearing that much more confident and above all there is that little bit of extra attention to detail. If there is just one point to notice it is that their shirt collars are crisp sharp and uncreased. Behind that collar, holding it ramrod straight is probably engraved regimental silver stays.

Get fit, get sharply dressed and be aware of your appearance at all times and that includes right down to the tiniest detail, collar stays and engraved collar stays for the final touch.
