Getting Wet in Florida: A Guide to the Water Parks in the Areat

The Florida sun at its full heat has me thinking about one thing: water; more specifically getting in it

. Many of the Orlando vacation rentals have a pool to cool off in, though for a good day out there are plenty of water parks around for family fun.

Though filtering through the prices of these attractions can sometimes bring a bead of sweat trickling down the forehead of those trying to save money on their holidays. Here is a quick guide to some of the deals on offer at some of Florida's favourite water parks.

Aquatica, Seaworld Water Park

A young water park and new addition to Sea World's building theme park empire, Aquatica is a particularly attractive Park full of slides and picturesque pools.

Florida residents get the best deal here, as those that book in advance can spend the day the the park for $41.95, with a pass for family and children.

The best deal for non Florida residents is the offer Sea World are currently running, in which you can buy a day at Sea World for $78.95 and get a day at the Aquatica water park for free.

Rides to try here are Taumata racer and the Omaka Rocka

Wet 'N' Wild, on International Drive

This is one of Orlando's favourite parks. The park has many water slides, fumes and a wave pool. Yet it also has a facility for jet ski lovers. Another very nice feature to this park is the children's section which offers all the attractions of the main park, but in miniature for the young ones.

Again Florida residents currently get the best deal, getting in for $32 each, while non-residents have to spend $47.95. The park also offers half price afternoon admission.

The Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach, Walt Disney World

Blizzard Beach is a compact but great little water park with some of the best slides in the region. The dark Tunnel is a great ride for the teens and grown-ups while the family raft ride is a nice gentle one, that will suit anyone.

Typhoon Lagoon is another nice family based water park with slow moving rides touring the whole park.

A single day ticket at Disney's water parks is $46. There are also annual passes that cost $60 for admission after 2pm, while an all day annual pass will cost $99.95

Coco Key Water Resort

Being part of a hotel this water park is a rather cheaper option as it allows guests in to its water section, featuring 3 large slides and pools. A regular day ticket costs $24.95 here, while Florida residents can get in for $14.95.

Water Park Flexiticket

For those wishing to hit a good number of the water parks the Flexiticket allows unlimited access to the parks for a lump sum.

You have access to six parks including the non-water based theme parks of Universal studios, and the pass lasts 14 days.

The ticket costs $299.95.
