Getting Your Ex Back - If You Want Them Back Don't Say This

The two of you were quite an item. People were absolutely certain that t the two of you would be together forever. In so many ways you were the ideal couple for many of your friends and family. For crying out loud the two of you used to get a lot of compliments form total strangers. And you believed it because in many ways as far as you were concerned it was true. Not just outside appearances but more so when it was just the two of you.
Now it's over. Your ex has decided that they want out of the relationship. They are vague as to why but quite clear in their intent. They appreciate what they shared with you but it is time to move on. You understand but you do not accept that. What the two of you had was special and to throw it all away for reasons that are unclear does not make any sense to you. It's all well and good to respect their decision but the minute they made the announcement you were already trying to figure out how to win them back.
However there is one thing that you may be thinking of saying to them that in your opinion would seal the deal. What is it? That you will do anything as long as they take you back.
Stop. That is a huge mistake and one you should avoid at all cost.
For one thing you are in essence begging and by doing so destroying your sense of self worth. Yes you want them back you don't want to grovel to make it happen. The second thing is do not make any promises you cannot keep. If they take you up on that offer and throw something at you that you feel is unfair and over the top than how are you going to follow thru on your promise to do anything?
The last one is you are basically giving them the power that belongs to you. Each of us has power but saying you will do anything means in effect you have handed it over to them to do whatever they want. That means that they could use it against you because you have given them the complete authority to do so.
