Getting rid of the Nasty Carpet stains in Tampa
Getting rid of the Nasty Carpet stains in Tampa
The two major reasons of carpet stains are Kids and pets. They eat on the carpet, they sleep on the carpet, they puke on the carpet, they piss on the carpet, and they basically do everything on the carpet. And when you shout at them, they make those cute faces and we give up!
What should you do about the carpet stains in Tampa then? Clean them? Well, we have all had experiences in trying to clean those nasty stains. And usually we end up spoiling our $1500 carpet!!!
A few tips to remove carpet stains in Tampa:
Mild stains (like butter, baby food, juices, alcohol, chewing gum, nail paint and so on): These stains are easy to get rid of. All you need is some mild detergent or soap (baby shampoo works for me). Prepare a mixture of soap and water (less soap, more water) and pour it directly onto the stain, leave it for about 5 minutes and use your hands or a towel to clean it (DO NOT scrub). You can use some homemade cleaners like vinegar or lemon juice and water too. If you feel the need for scrubbing, use a tooth brush (do not apply too much pressure while cleaning it). After it is done, let the carpet dry. You can use a hair dryer if you want, but make sure it's on low heat.
Moderate stains (like paint, urine, cheese, ketchup and so on): These stains are a bit difficult to remove. Soak the stained part in some water. This can be done by soaking some cotton in water and then keeping it on the stain. After that use some detergent solution or stain remover with water (available in any store) and pour it over the stain. Clean using a towel or any rough cloth (tooth brush can be used).
Nasty stains (like coffee or ink or blood or oil): Now these are what I call nasty satins. These are very difficult to remove. Firstly use some water and detergent solution to soak the stains. Then, pour some stain remover (directly or with little water) onto the stain and leave it for 15 minutes. Clean it and let it dry. If the stain doesn't go, put a few drops of kerosene (keep it away from the kids) and leave it for 1 or 2 minutes. Then clean with regular water.
This will get rid of the stains. However, some stains just don't go, in that case, you will have to hire a professional to help you.
Always remember to get your carpet cleaned every 6 months and use disinfectant regularly. Carpet stains in Tampa can become difficult to clean if you don't clean them at the right time.
