I am a trainee in a company that provides SEO services. SEO or Search Engine Optimization is new to me. I haven't had any idea what SEO means or what it does until I got my degree in college.

In the first 5 days of our 30-days job training I have learned a lot about SEO. It was very exhausting but fun. We learned about some basic SEO skills like Keyword Analysis or Keyword Research, SERPs Monitoring, Link Popularity checking, Article Submission, Article Writing and Blog Commenting. Actually, this article would be my first one.

I've been doing research about those skills in order to fully grasp the idea and the techniques. Keyword Analysis is not that easy as you think of it. There a lot of things to consider like the Relevance of the phrase, Search Volume and Competition.

Relevance would mean that the keyword you formulate or generate would relate and should be related to the site you are promoting. Having irrelevant keywords would not help your site.

Search Volume means the number of searches or how frequent those words are searched by users. You can determine the Search Volume of the words by using Google's adwords tool. There are still other options other than google adwords if you won't like it. Just dig the web.

Competition would mean the number sites using those keywords you generate. To help you get to the top, you should select the words that are of low competition.

SERPs Monitoring and Link Popularity Checking is the method of keeping track of your site's performance in search engines. There are also tools, search engine operators and techniques to make these jobs easier and faster. This is a very important job because in here you will know if your work is paying off and if your site is gaining good reputation.

Article Writing and Article Submission are also important in SEO jobs. Through article writing and article submission, you can get links for your site. In order to have the precious link you have to submit your article to an article submission site. Our trainer suggests submitting your site to a free article submission site. In that way, you can get free links. There are many article submission sites that render services for free. The more links coming to your site would be much better.

Blog Commenting is one of the methods in link building. It is simple but also critical because a lot of spamming happens here. It is important that you comment on the post that are of close relevance to your category. Also your comments should be relevant to topic posted.
