THE GAMES:

Ghost Trick

Dead men, the saying goes, tell no tales. Luckily, this old adage doesn't apply to the recently deceased central character of Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective. In Ghost Trick, you take control of a soul who has no memory of his prior life and is desperate to uncover the truth behind his mysterious death. This investigation takes the form of a unique adventure game filled with terrific characters, compelling puzzles, and a labyrinthine mystery that keeps you guessing and that pays off in a big way. Don't let the fact that the main character is dead mislead you: this lively adventure is a breath of fresh air. You've never played a game quite like Ghost Trick.

Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors

You wake up on an ocean liner. You have been chosen to take part in a deadly game. Along with eight others, you must find a way through a series of rooms that offer no easy exit, or die trying. Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors pulls you into this grim circumstance through its absorbing storytelling and through puzzles that engage your wits but rarely frustrate them. The terrifying dilemma the characters are forced to confront is not one most people would ever want to face, but this excellent adventure game makes vicariously experiencing that horrific situation tough to resist.

Professor Layton and the Unwound Future

The Professor Layton games occupy a brilliant little niche in the puzzle game genre, delivering mind-churning challenge with whimsy, humor, and heart. The titular gentleman and his eager apprentice have returned once more to answer a call for assistance, following a path that leads onward through the mysteries of time. Built around a slew of great puzzles and moved along by intrigue and intellect, Professor Layton and the Unwound Future is gratifying on many levels. Anyone who enjoys pitting their wits against brainteasers could enjoy this game, but something better occurs here than unraveling mazes and counting blocks. This is a delightful adventure that enchants the mind and blends its challenges, narrative, and world in a near-seamless weave.

Call of Duty: Black Ops

If Call of Duty: Black Ops on the consoles is the equivalent of a summer blockbuster movie, then Black Ops on the DS is the version you see on basic cable a couple of years later. It has been cut and trimmed to fit the system, and a few things have been lost in translation, but it's still a fun experience that captures the spirit of its console cousin. The single-player campaign in Black Ops is all about the murky dealings of Cold War-era Special Forces agents. The levels take the form of flashbacks experienced during a mission debriefing. The story tries to give off a backroom espionage vibe, but unlike the story in the console version, it's disjointed and unclear and serves only as an excuse to set up missions. Those missions might not tie in to the overall plot very well, but as one-off excursions, they're varied and exciting. And on top of that, you can hop into some great online shooter action with up to five other players.

Plants vs. Zombies

You're trapped inside the house; brain-craving zombies are closing in from all sides; and there are no firearms or weaponized power tools in sight. What do you do? In Plants vs. Zombies, now available for the Nintendo DS well over a year after it debuted on the PC, you have only one option: to strategically surround your home with a selection of combat-ready plants. Both the plants at your disposal and the zombies you're disposing of in this tower defense game come in a wonderful variety of shapes and sizes, and are introduced gradually as you play through the occasionally challenging campaign. The DS version of Plants vs. Zombies boasts the same campaign, minigames, and bonus features found in last year's Xbox Live Arcade version, and while it lacks that game's cooperative play, it does include the excellent competitive mode.

The best place to download them is from Reputable Membership Sites. These sites offer you more than just games but also give you Software, Movies, Music and much more. For Best Games DS go see what is available.
