South Korea in what could be hailed as the most thrilling match of this world cup hung on for a 2-2 draw against Nigeria. This in a match which qualifies them for the first time to the second round in a tournament organized outside their own country.

The second half got underway in a most exiting manner when South Korea took the lead thanks to a Park goal at the 49 minute mark. South Korea now find themselves in a position of having to take on Uruguay to see which of the two will advance to the quarterfinals and though the South Americans are favorite perhaps it would be a good idea for them to remember that back in 83 in the under 21 world cup; it was South Korea who eliminated Uruguay to advance to the semifinals.
