It is up to us to tap into these aspects of our parents and think of ways to make them feel wanted and cherished on special occasions.

Many of us make the mistake of thinking that older people dont have much use for most gift items and are content to sit in front of the TV or on a balcony watching the world go by. But older people these days are far more savvy then we give them credit for. Theyre abreast of whats happening around the globe; theyre more clued in on technology than we realize; and they want to do the things they never had time to do when they were raising a family. Isnt it only fair that we try to give them these opportunities?

So this Diwali we can give our parents gift cards for all sorts of things different products, different brands, shops and malls. We can also give them gift cards for hotels and restaurants giving them the choice of an evening out or a weekend getaway.
