Gift Ideas For Your Sweetheart Using White Spider Lilies

White spider lilies also known as Magic Lilies with the botantical name of Lycoris

albiflora are lilies that grow two feet high, start to bud in July and bloom in August. The very fragrant trumpet shaped flowers appear in clusters of three to five blooms at the top of the stem. The flowers are not frost hardy and need to be protected during cold snaps and lifted during the cold winter months.

Indoor plant

Most flowers require six to eight hours of sunlight to bloom and the white spider lily is no exception. However it can be started outside in pots and when blooming brought inside and placed in a sunny location. A gift of a blooming spider lily paired with white blooming jasmine and narcissus will fill a room with fragrance. Place the pots in a copper rectangular planter and cover with sphagnum moss to hide the soil. When the lily has finished blooming it can be planted outside in a sheltered spot to bloom again next summer.

Pair a blooming spider lily plant with Spider Lily Eau de Toilette. The scent is also available in soaps, lotions, bath salts and shower gel. Cover the pot of the lily plant with silver foil. Place the plant in a white straw filled basket and the scented gifts. Add in a white bath puff, white wash cloths. Finish with a big white bow. Add a note about the care and feeding of the lily.

Add the scent of white spider lilies to a scented garden. Package a blooming spider lily plant with other scented flowers such as geraniums, gardenias and roses for a gift that will add summer long fragrance to the garden. Add a note with information about the lily, when and how to plant.
