Finding that mothers day gift can be quite tricky, just like any other occasion. If your mother is anything like my mine when you ask her what gift she wants the usual reply is the "i don't want anything", thanks mother... but that doesn't really help. Its easy when she wants something in particular ( within reason of course! ) but when you have no idea you are really at a dead end. Do you really just want to get flowers for your mother? I mean flowers are great yes, but special and unique? no. I think this year i am going to get my mothers something that she will remember, i don't really like the idea of getting flowers and chocolates because them type of presents are boring and overdone. So what other types of possibilities are there to choose from?

A new fashionable gift to give in the last few years are experience days, they are basically days out . What is great about days out is the surprise factor that it will give, will your mother be expecting you to think out the box and say treat her to a pampering session at a local spa? or maybe a three course dinner at a Michelin-star restaurant. She will would love a day out like that, it would give her something to remember, something special. Maybe even going a bit further and treating her to a weekend break somewhere quiet, peaceful and relaxing away from the city. Its way more special than a box of chocolates that your mother will probably not end up eating because she is counting calories, or flowers that yes may look nice but will probably end up lasting a week, the lasting appeal is not very great.

You can also treat your mother to a trip to a theater, if shes into that kind of thing. Days out and short breaks are much better and it will give her an experience that she will have for a long time and even be able to talk about it with friends and colleagues. Some other suggestions are something for the home, again something that has lasting appeal and every mother loves the home, give her a unique special family picture. A mothers day framed poem, written by yourself will really be emotional and show how much you care, or better yet combined them both a picture and a poem. Other possibilities are maybe vases or ornaments around the home, if your mother collects them type of things than try and get one that fits in well with her set and that she will love.

Another choice is maybe get her some jewellery, what woman does not like jewellery? maybe you could get a necklace or pendant with a picture engraved with your name or mum onto it. Make her a card instead of buying one, show her how much you care and the time you would have put in to make the card would be especially appreciated, you may also have fun doing it. Why not make her a hamper of all her favorite pampering products and little gifts, including flowers and chocolate. That would be something different.

The best mothers day gift is not always something which you spend the most money on, its the thought and time that goes into the gift that makes it special. Give your mother something unique for mothers day, thinking outside the box will last longer in her memory. Make this mothers day gift the best yet.
