Girls Aloud Singer Nicola Roberts Says She Would Like A Wedding Abroad

Nicole Roberts, one of the members of the popular UK girl band

, Girls Aloud, has hinted that she would like to tie the knot overseas if she and her boyfriend decide to get married.

Destination weddings appear to have been on Nicoles mind recently but she insists that she and her boyfriend of two years, Charlie Fennell, will not be getting married abroad just yet.

Nicola told Now Magazine recently: I'd like to get married abroad actually.

Did you ever see that episode of Friends where Ross was getting married to Emily and they had that rundown place and candlelit the whole thing?

I want somewhere like that, like a derelict church.

And I'd like to do it in the evening so that the light's nicer.

I'm a hopeless romantic.

Nicola said that over the past couple of years Charlie has supported her while she worked on her solo album and has made her some fantastic meals.

The 25-year-old singer explained: Charlie and I support each other in what we do and I think if you want to make it work, you make it work.

We go out for dinner and Charlie cooks a lot at home.

When I was making the album, sometimes I wouldn't come in until four in the morning and he'd wake up and ask me how it went.

You have to find someone who's just as enthusiastic about what you do as you are.

Destination weddings are becoming an increasingly popular choice for celebrities who look for secluded exotic locations for their romantic nuptials, away from the prying eyes of the worlds paparazzi.

Recent celebrities who have chosen weddings abroad over traditional ceremonies at home include American Pie actress Tara Reid who married Zack Kehayov on the Greek island of Santorini in August this year; U.S singer Nick Lachey who married his MTV presenter girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo on Richard Bransons Neckar Island in the Caribbean in July; the nuptials between Country singer Shania Twain and Frdric Thibaud in Puerto Rico in the Caribbean; and pop singer Katy Perry and British comedian Russell Brand who tied the knot in India last October.

Popular destinations for overseas weddings include the Caribbean, the Maldives, the Seychelles, Hawaii, Greece, Spain, Italy and France.
