Giving Back To Santa. Isn't It About Time?

If karma holds true for cartoon characters, why not for Santa? He is always on the giving end of things. Is he going in deep debt to the credit card companies or the big bankers? How does he pay all those elves who work so hard all year long? His travel costs must be astronomical. How could he get as large as he is up in the North Pole? Do they grow anything up there in the summer time? Sure, milk and cookies from around the world will put on a few pounds, but that much in one night? Is it something in the water?

Shouldn't someone who is so dedicated to giving to others have a shiny new belt buckle to hold up those big red pants? He needs a little help around that rotund belly to keep his jolly laughter rolling. He grew to that size one way or another and it really is none of our business, so why not try to help out Ole Santa with a new buckle? That square thing he's been wearing is out of date. It still holds up his britches but there must be a way to bring the big guy into the modern world.

The current buckle looks like it came from Henry VIII or a swashbuckling pirate or the chubby muskateer in the middle of the other two. As many pictures as there are of Santa Claus, one would think that his agent might consider a make-over at least in the belt department. Who does his clothes? Rather, who does his accessories? "Good gawd", as James Brown would say. He might add a cape to Santa's wardrobe but that's another thing for another time. A cape with a couple of elves at the celebrity hot tub party would be a nice touch, especially in the North Pole. That is not a bad idea really but we need a custom belt buckle to get things started.

Now that I think about it, Texas might be a good place to find a large one for Santa. Big buckles and Texas are like cows and cow poop, like rain and water, like rodeos and big belt buckles. Given the fact that belts and buckles, like everything in Texas, are bigger, does not mean that all of them were won in a rodeo competition. It might have something to do with the three biggest stories of a Texan, but we do not need to go there now. We are talking about Santa Claus and he needs a few modern custom belt buckles in a bad way.

Ok, now that we know Texas is the best place to find a belt buckle for Santa, who should design this thing? Santa might have to write a letter to a cowboy asking for the design he likes. I hope he picks a real one so he can reap a little of what he has sown.
