The popularity of glass baby bottles is on the rise due to the fact that many parents

are finding out that the plastic ones that they have just into in the past could be harmful to their babies. Some of the plastic baby bottles that have been found on store shelves contain the chemical bisphenol-A. This chemical has been shown to leak into the liquids in the bottle, which could be harmful to the baby.

However, it is true that plastic baby bottles are cheaper than glass baby bottles initially. You can usually buy a pack of them for couple of dollars, whereas glass ones you have to spend a few more dollars for the same amount. Try to overlook this price difference, as those made of glass are 100% chemical free and will not have any adverse effect on your baby. What's more, is that they are reusable and very durable. Models that are made of glass almost always last longer than those made of plastic, and will not crack easily. It is also not possible to puncture them, which can be a problem sometimes with plastic bottles.

Many of the glass baby bottles that you find will have special nipples. Many of them have nipples that will not do any air escape along with the liquid the baby is drinking, which will keep air from entering them along with the liquid. This can prevent some all too common stomach problems. However, some do not have special nipples.

Each glass bottle brand or style will be compatible with certain types of nipples. Aside from nipple style differences, there are also material differences. Most are made of either latex or silicone, depending on the brand. Those made of silicone are hardy and last a long time, while those that are made out of latex will last half as long -- but smell pleasant to most babies.

There should be nothing above the healthy your baby, and choosing the right bottle can be the one thing that is the thin line between your little boy or girl being healthy or ill. The bottle is often overlooked and considered to be inconsequential to the baby's health besides needing to be washed, but that could not be further from the truth. The truth is, the baby bottle has a huge effect on how healthy your baby. And as we all know, a healthy baby is a happy baby.

In most cases, if a store carries plastic bottles they will also carry glass baby bottles. Remember the differences between the two types to make sure that you make the right decision when it comes time to head up the register.
