Global Software Scenario

Software is something which comes hand-in-hand in almost every aspect in day-to-day life. When we grace our presence at any bank we use software, when we go to any reservation counter we use software, when we go to any ATM centre we use software-----"WHERE EVER YOU GO SOFTWARE FOLLOWS YOU".

Time and again we come across a word called Recession which is not very uncommon in any sector. Recession is a temporary decline of economy or pace of any sector. The amount of Recession depends upon the connectivity of that sector with global economy. So, more the Global connectivity more is the Recession.

Since software has more connectivity with global scenario, the Recession has hit it very hard.

To tell you that "connectivity" is important factor in experiencing the global changes, I would like to tell you one Eg:

Example : Sectors like Telecom industry hasn't moved an inch because of the Recession, because the connectivity of that sector with the global economy is very limited.

I would like to elucidate the scenario of software for the past 20 years with the help of an example---

The example is.

Consider water in a River (case-1) and consider water in a Sea (case-2).

In Case-1, water in River doesn't have any up's and downs and moves freely and calmly. That is the position of software in 1990's when software was in its nascent stage.

Over a period of Evolution..

Case-2, Software has become like water in Sea, where it experiences up's and downs called "Waves". In a wave, when water rises up from its original level to peak point I term it as "Software Boom" and that is what the condition of software in 2005-2006.

But my friends do remember water will not always be at peak of the wave, and at some point of time it should slide down and get mix up with the normal flow. It is a natural phenomenon that is what we see water comes down from its max point. That slide down is what we term as "Recession". And this is what the present condition of software.

There are some pessimists who argue that software is going to vanish and it would be replaced with some other technology.

But my friends do remember,

"Very few People in this country are wise and the others are otherwise".

Not caring for such comments let us hope that software rises to the peak level in the future.

I would like to end by saying one sentence .that is..

"SOFTWARE VANISHES ONLY WHEN OCEANS BECOME DESERTS."
