Glossy Text Tutorial - Photoshop
1. Create a new document (File->New...)

2. For my glossy text I gave the canvas the following parameters:
3. Fill the background with black (#000000)
4. Type whatever text you want. The font parameters for this tutorial where:
Font Style: Cooper Std
Font Size: 24pt
Font Color: #4e00ff
5. Right Click on the text layer. Left click "Blending Options...". Apply the following settings to the text layer:
Drop Shadow Settings:
Ensure Blend Mode is set to Normal. Change the color to white (#ffffff) and change Opacity to 21%.
Outer Glow:
Ensure Blend Mode is Screen. Change color to white (#ffffff), change opacity to 55% and change size to 10px.
Inner Glow:
Ensure Blend Mode is Screen. Change color to white (#ffffff), ensure opacity is 100% and change size to 8px.
Gradient Overlay:
Choose the Gradient type you want. Here I used the text color #4e00ff fading to the darker color #2f2f81.
Stroke (Optional)
Change color to black (#000000) and changed the size to 2. Ensure the Position is Outside, Blend Mode is Normal and Opacity is 100%.
With these blending options applied your text should now look like something to the following:
6. Now we are going to apply more of the "glossy" look to our text. Create a new layer above the text layer. Name this new layer Round Highlight.
7. Ensure the new Round Highlight layer is the active layer (highlighted in blue in the layers panel). Using the Circle Marquee tool do the following and fill the marquee area with white (#ffffff):
8. With the Round Highlight layer still selected hold down the Ctrl key and left click on the text layer in the layer panel.
9. Ensure the Round Highlight layer is still selected. Hold Ctrl + Shift and press the I key, to reverse selection. Press the Delete Key.

10. Repeat steps 7 thru 9 for each letter.
11. With the Round Highlight layer still selected change its opacity to 30%.
Your text should now look something like this:
12. Create a new layer. Name this layer Gloss Over Text. Ensure this new layer is above the Round Highlight layer.
13. Ensure the Gloss Over Text layer is selected. Hold down the Ctrl key and left click on the text layer in the layer panel.
14. Fill the Gloss Over Text layer with white (#000000).
15. Using the Slection Tool move the gloss over text layer down and to the right.
16. Ensure the Gloss Over Text layer is selected. Hold down the Ctrl key and left click on the text layer in the layer panel. Now reverse selection by holding down Ctrl + Shift keys and press the I key.
17. Hit the Delete key.
18. On the Gloss Over Text layer change its opacity to 25%. This will provide the final Result.
