Go Karts - Are They The Answer To Keeping Youngsters Active?
Pedal go karts for children are readily available in all shapes and sizes
, so just how do you go about choosing the right one for you?
There are a number of considerations that all parents and kids should be mindful of when they come to purchase a new pedal go kart.
1. Price range
Inexpensive go karts will start off at about 150 and rise to in excess of 750 for the more sturdy, specialist go karts that are ideal for all terrains and racing. As with the majority of purchases, you get what you pay for with the more costly models lasting longer and giving a much better experience. The more pricey types generally cater for larger youngsters along with a wider age range so in the long run they are going to prove cost effective.
2. Terrain that they are to be used on.
If the most likely use of the go kart is on pavements and or playgrounds, then the cheaper price range items are more than adequate. Off road users will need to opt for a more robust model with pneumatic tyres. The quality of the wheels and suspension all differ and some karts come with gears including reverse and a free-wheeilng system permitting a safe ride even if you don't want to pedal.
Larger go-karts will also be fitted with a handbrake as standard.
3. For one or more riders
Some go-karts are offered with additional seats enabling extra fun for your youngster and sibling or friend. These extra seats can readily be added to some models. Trailers are also available to be fitted. Be mindful when buying extra seats as a lot of types only offer seats appropriate for upto 30KG so often not suitable for older children. In this case, the attachments for 2 seaters and chariots are often a better solution.
4. Age and size of your go karter.
Depending on the age and size of your youngster, there are a variety of go-kart ranges available. The majority start off at the 3 to 8 years range and some extend to 11 years and above. Multi adjustable seats make it possible for a standard go-kart to expand with the youngster.
5. Colour
Go karts are available in a full selection of colours from pink, red, black to multi colours. Something to suit every child's taste.
6. Warranties and Support
Most Go Karts come with a 1 year warranty however there are a range of models that are produced in Germany and can offer a two year guarantee on the go-karts and a five year frame guarantee. Dealers should be fully supported with a parts back up service with components shipped all around the world to help keep owners and their go karts operating smoothly. Verify that the go kart that you are considering is both CE marked and TUV approved.
7. Ease of assembly.
Most go karts are delivered with some assembly needed. Frequently the steering wheel, and seats need to be attached. Always watch out for anticipated assembly times and clear and concise guidelines.
A number of the makes of karts on the market are pre-assembled then dismantled for packing so everything is guaranteed a perfect fit.
