Going Against The Flow Will Pay Off If You Choose A Midweek Break
You've probably done it many times before, and will continue to do it but do you
find the weekend rush at the start of every holiday a bit of a trial?
For starters, almost everyone else who's going away, be it for a short break or a longer, more relaxing stay, is doing the same, meaning that the roads, transport interchanges and airports are all packed out.
It's the same story at the service stations along your route too. It can take ages to get served, and the stress involved certainly doesn't make an ideal start to any holiday.
Then, when it's all over you have to do it all again, in reverse. It's difficult to plan when you should be leaving, simply because you don't know how bad the traffic is going to be on the roads up ahead.
So why not break the pattern, and opt instead for the more relaxing alternative? A midweek break.
On a four-night break you'll still have plenty of time to shake off all your daily cares and get down to some serious fun pursuits. And you can return home just as the weekend gets under way, giving you time to recover from all your exertions before Monday finally rolls around again.
At many times of the year, the country's well-established and much-loved family holiday resorts are a good deal quieter in the week, so you'll be able to get around much more easily, and take longer to find and enjoy your favourites from among the many attractions and activities on offer.
A midweek family holiday break is especially ideal if you have pre-school age children. They can jump right in and enjoy a range of fantastic activities, aimed just at them. They could meet some of their favourite TV characters, such as Barney, Fireman Sam or Angelina Ballerina; have a whirl of a time on the rides at the indoor funfair; enjoy fun time splashing around with mum and dad in the safe surroundings of the Splash Waterworld; and even get messy at arts and crafts sessions from which they'll be proud of show off their handiwork.
There's a brilliant choice of accommodation for a midweek break as well. It ranges from great value self-catering apartments to which you can add a meals package to suit your plans to deluxe suites. But for an all-encompassing holiday experience, why not stay in an on-site resort hotel? Having a luxurious room you can retreat to at the end of a day full of fun means you'll be able to unwind fully so that you're ready to do it all over again on the next one.
