If you are at a point in your life where you think you need to improve your financial situation, you may do what many do: look to get more education. Perhaps you want to go to law school (in which case you'll need to prepare for and take the LSAT) or to medical school. Or maybe you want to be a teacher. Before you jump on the back to school bandwagon, consider something very serious. Education can be very costly and there is no guarantee it will pay off. Do not overlook the option of trade schools or apprenticing. Every so often I think about what it would be like to go back to school. Now that I am a bit older and have a little more of life's experience behind I have better ideas of what I might like to do either for enjoyment or something useful. Some of the ideas I have in mind might be to go to cooking school. It would be wonderful to learn better ways to cook and prepare food. It would be fun to prepare gourmet meals at home. Although in today's world you can figure a lot of things out through recipes and cooking magazines. I would like to learn how to chop and prepare food more quickly. I have also thought about learning massage therapy. Especially because my husband frequently has sore back muscles from sitting behind a computer desk day after day. It would be helpful to learn how to give great messages. I know how nice it feels after a long day or injury to have relief from sore tired muscles. It would also be great to learn interior decorating especially to use in my own home as I experiment with color fabric and design. I think I could be happy learning any of these skills and be able to find some useful ways to use them in my life or in a profession. So many times in life we change our jobs or ideals and it would be wonderful to do something that I would enjoy.
