On the other hand a propane fireplace is easy to maintain, and significantly reduces the amount of heat escaping up the chimney.

It's not just homeowners who are jumping on the propane bandwagon. Nearly 60 percent of the commercial and industrial buildings in the United States have switched to propane gas for the same reasons: it's an inexpensive and efficient fuel for their energy needs. Businesses such as hotels, restaurants, and retail stores are using propane to fuel their manufacturing machinery and for common tasks such as space heating, water heating and cooking.
