Going On Vacation - Avoid The Stress With These 3 Tips

Although going on vacation is suppose to be relaxing the actual journey before arriving at your holiday destination can be very stressful

. All it takes is a little forward planning to ensure that everything remains as stress free as possible.

The following 3 tips will help you achieve that:

Tip 1: Your Luggage

Over the last couple of years there have been many restrictions and security checks introduced into most international and domestic airports. Many of these restrictions apply to your hand luggage that you carry onto the plane with you. Many people find out that either their hand luggage is to large are the contents inside are too big. This means they have to leave things behind which can be very costly and stressful. To avoid this happening check your airline about the baggage restrictions. Although, some of these restrictions have been relaxed, many are still in place. At the time of writing you are restricted to carry on liquids with a maximum volume of 100ml and these must be carried in clear plastic bags.

Tip 2: Take A First Aid Pack

You never know when you will need this but, it is better to be safe than sorry. Today, many travel first aid packs are available that are compact in size and are easy to store in your suitcase. These are very handy for cuts and grazes especially, for the kids. They also help to reduce the risk of infection as untreated wounds can become serious. When you buy a first aid pack make sure it contains plasters, wound dressings, painkillers, antiseptic cream and insect bite cream. If you are travelling to hot, developing countries include mosquito cream or spray. Consult with your doctor to find out if you need any injections such as tetanus.

Tip 3: Avoiding Travel Sickness

Travel sickness whether its a sore stomach or fever can ruin your holiday especially, if you have been looking forward to it for a long time. Therefore, plan ahead for any unforeseen circumstances. Make sure you bring ample supplies of clean fresh water. If you are travelling to a developing country do not drink the tap water. To avoid motion sickness look out of the window and focus on the scenery, the people or the clouds. There are a number of products on the market that can help with alleviating the symptoms of travel sickness for example, tablets and wrist bands that are available at most major pharmacies and chemists.
