Gold Belly Rings - A Good First Piercing

Choosing the location of your first piercing is always a big deal

. Many people choose to get their ears pierced before any other body part. In fact, many of us (especially women) have our ears pierced before we can even walk. However, if you have not yet gotten any kind of piercing and you are old enough to choose the spot by yourself, you may wonder if you should start with gold belly rings.

In all honesty, a belly button piercing may not be the best overall choice for your first piercing. If you have never experienced the small amount of pain that goes along with any piercing, you may not be ready for the feeling of getting your belly button pierced. Many people say that it is unlike any other piercing, and is quite a bit more painful. It is not like the feeling of piercing your ears, or even like piercing your lip.

Another thing that might hold back your choice to start out with gold belly rings is the precautions that you have to take after your piercing. Belly button piercings can become infected quite easily. Some people have a particularly hard time keeping this area of their body clean. The biggest problem is that your belly button is constantly covered by your shirt, which causes a big buildup of heat and sweat. When that sweat gets into your piercing, it not only burns but also increases the chance for infection.

If you have never experienced what it is like to get a piercing and all that goes with the after care, it may be a bit unrealistic to expect to purchase gold belly rings and be completely satisfied with it. Most people will tell you that it is a good idea to start with an ear piercing first and then move on to other areas of the body to pierce when you are ready. Once you get your ears pierced, you will have a better idea if you would want to get your navel pierced. Think of a belly button piercing as something to look forward to in the future.
