{Specialize in money-making professions}

Be it a primary or a secondary profession, Warcraft professions are specific fields of specializations that enable you to create ordinary objects into something of value. Tailors could turn cloth usually a free supply into expensive herb bags, bank bags, robe, shirts and even novelty shirts for a profit. Skinners can slay animals and collect their skins and sell these to leatherworkers. Miners can mine for ores and transform these into valuable metals, if they are already practicing blacksmithing, or sell these to blacksmiths for some gold. There are many possibilities for generating income as a practitioner of a specific profession, whether it's for selling gathered stuff or in providing specialized services.

Needless to say, it is not a good idea to practice expensive professions with low income like enchanting, inscription and engineering. These may enable you to do some of the coolest things in the game, although at the expense of your income.

{Use the auction house}.

There's gold at the Auction House, literally. After all, gold is the primary medium of trade there. If you have items to sell drop offs, things you have created using your profession, items you no longer need you can sell them here. It is a lifeblood of sorts so max it out.

It could be tricky to use, though, so learn the ropes of auctioning first before you put up your items for bidding.

{Go fish for gold}.

Fishing as a secondary profession is often frowned upon for its 'boredom factor'. On the other hand, despite it being very slow paced, it is a very decent way to earn modest income. Sure, it will bore the hell out of you and make you go ga-ga with the repetitive activities. But you can change the game by fishing in the right waters where there's really some rare and good catch, among wreckage finds. You'll be surprised at what most fishermen pull up while they fish.

{Use an ALT character}.

An ALT is an alternative character that you may use on top of your main character on the same server. Using an alt for generating extra gold may not be as easy as one may first think, though, since much work has to be done to make an alt work. All for the purpose of gathering more gold than a main character may allow.

Once sufficient gold has been collected through an alt, this money can be sent via the in-game mailing system to the main character. This may be done another way, though. You can send off all extra materials for processing to the alt and deliver the profits to the main character.

It is also not a bad idea to have an alt stationed in major cities or at the Auction House. This is advisable to players who are anticipating to stay in the wilds for a long time.

Finally, this gold making guide suggests that you get a mount. Yes, this requires investment on your part, but if you're after profits, having extra speed can go a long way.
