This faciliates the smooth burning of the sulphide and carbon, after which it sent to a leaching circuit.
At processing, gold is leached from the rock with a dilute cyanide water solution. The product is then passed through columns filled with activated carbon, which becomes coated in gold. The carbon is removed and washed with a cyanide and caustic soda solution. This removes the gold. Electrolytic cells then process the wash solution. This recovers the gold, which is plated onto the electrolytic cells. This gold is then recovered, melted and poured into a mould where it is called a dore bar or ingot.
