We conducted our gold buying events as "all sales are final". However, consult with your local town hall, secretary of state, police dept., and possibly an attorney to comply to with all local regulations. Also, do whatever you can to make your customers happy. You may consider a "same-day returns only" policy, that way it doesn't inconvenience you very much.
We recommend staying away from purchasing watches unless you have specialized experience in dealing with them.
At parties, we do not remove stones from the jewelry. It is too time consuming. However, when we weigh the items containing stones, we eyeball the size of the stones, then deduct an amount of the weight depending on the size of the stone. Inform customers that you cannot pay them for the stones as they have no resale value in most cases, and are lost in the refining process.

Most customers understand the majority of stones in jewelry have little to no resale value. However, there may be times in which your scrap gold shipment contains a large number of these stones. You may remove the stones, and meet with a trusted jeweler to determine if any of them have value. In most cases, they do not.
*Refiners DO NOT charge additional fees for scrap jewelry containing stones. If they try too, find a new refiner.
What if I'm not sure if the piece of jewelry is gold or not?
1. Test with gold tester on multiple spots - Clean each spot with a regular pencil eraser to remove surface debris.
2. Test with rare earth magnet
3. If you are still unsure, don't buy the item - Never feel obligated to buy any item you feel unsure of. Remember, you may decline to do business with any customer, for any reason. You're money is valuable, so never risk giving it away buying a fake piece of jewelry. Trust us, because we've fallen victim to this in the past!Click Here To Grab Your Copy
