Goldbach’s Conjecture about the Parts of Watch
Author: barbrine
Author: barbrine
From 1729 to 1764, during these thirty-five years, Goldbach and Euler have always kept in touch with each other by correspondence. On 7 June, 1742, the Prussian mathematician Christian Goldbach wrote a letter to Leohard Euler in which he proposed the following conjecture. He wrote: My question is this: take a high-end watch, such as the extremely complex IWC watch, how many parts does it have? Euler wrote back: I have no way to prove this proposition. Thus, well-known Goldbach conjecture was born. Of course, this is a joke. However, how many parts are there in a watch in the end? Here, we will talk about the parts of movement of a complex watch.
