Golden Retriever Puppies

They are cute and cuddly, fun and energetic, loyal and loveable

. Golden Retriever puppies are great pets to have for everyone, both kids and adults. These cute little fur balls will soon grown to be large and loveable dogs that will be loyal to their owners to the end. These puppies, like any other puppy, will need direction and training in order to fit nicely into the family that has taken them in though.

Golden Retriever puppies require a lot of attention. They need to be loved on and shown attention in order to be happy. They are known to be fairly easy to house train and to train to obey the rules of the house hold if the owners have the time to devote to the training.

One of the first areas of training that needs to be addressed with this breed of dog is house training. It is a good idea to keep your new puppy with you for the first few days so they can learn what to and not to do in the home. These dogs need a lot of exercise so having a fenced in yard for them to romp in is a great idea.

It is important to remember that puppies can only hold their bladder for a certain amount of time. A good way to calculate how often you will need to take them out is to consider their age in months. The average puppy can hold their bladder one hour for every month of age. Your four month old puppy needs to be taken out, on average, every four hours. Yes, this does include throughout the night so be prepared to get up frequently until they are about eight to ten months old.

These puppies can be fairly rambunctious as well. One good way to help them burn some of that puppy energy is to take them for walks around the neighborhood. You will not only be teaching them how to walk with you on a leash, you will also be getting them familiar with their surroundings. This is important so that they will become comfortable in their new home.

Be very careful with a new Golden Retriever puppy as their baby teeth are razor sharp. It may not be a good idea to allow the smaller children to play rough with the dog until they have learned that nipping is not acceptable. Young kids do not know how to defend themselves from a dog so they could get hurt while they are trying to play. Young dogs do not realize that they are playing too rough either so the combination can be dangerous.

Taking a new Golden Retriever puppy into your home can lead to many years of great companionship. They will be loyal to you and loving. After the work of training them is complete you are sure to find that you have made the right choice in your decision to add a Golden Retriever puppy to your home. Your dog will be your friend and your companion.
