Golf Lessons - Take Some And Play Better

If you are a new golfer who has decided to take up the challenge of learning the game

, and would like to enjoy the sport for many years, it is a good idea to take some golf lessons. From the outset of anything new, it is always good to get the basics right. If you have someone to teach you good habits, from the start, it will stand you in good stead for the future.

Qualified PGA instructors are not hard to find these days, as most golf clubs have one attached to them. So if you are going to have golf lessons, it should be easy to find an instructor, but by far the best way to find a good coach is by word of mouth. You will probably know a few people who have had golf lessons, so ask around and see if there are any recommendations. If the same name keeps coming up, give him a try. Not everybody can be wrong.

Once you have found your instructor, it won't be long before he has you into a routine that will give you a swing that repeats every time. You should be able to understand what he is trying to get you to do. Ask questions. There is nothing worse than coming away from a golf lesson not sure of what you have been taught. It's not good for you. And your instructor will be wondering what he's doing wrong when he sees very little progress at your next lesson. So get him to clarify what he means. He won't be upset because you ask questions. You are paying for his time, so make sure it's money well spent.

This brings us onto whether golf lessons are worth the money. If you have golf lessons from the beginning it will be a good investment. A good instructor will have you standing correctly at address, lining up to the target in the right manner and swinging freely through the ball, all within a short space of time. Your self confidence will soar. You will benefit from learning good habits right from the start. You will learn practice drills and new techniques more quickly than if you were left to your own devices. And you will have someone who knows the game to answer all your golfing questions. So yes, money spent now, at the start of your golfing life, will be money spent wisely. And will probably save you money in the long term.

So to sum up, don't be afraid to go to a qualified golf instructor for golf lessons. Even the most famous golfers in the world have their own coach, who they use on a regular basis. Some even take them all over the world with them, just to make sure they are there when needed. As club golfers, we don't need to go to these lengths, but having a good relationship with your golf teacher will benefit you in the long run.
