Basic service procedures are carried out at the same time as the battery changes, about every 2 years. More extensive servicing is required about every 6-10 years. Digital quartz watches will only require battery changes and don't need any other servicing.

The time and money needed to keep a good quality watch working well can be a little more than might be expected, but the expense is justified by the value of having the watch work at its best for many years, and possibly more than one owner. If you ever intend to sell the watch, approved service agents are really the only ones who should look after your watch and ensure that it keeps its value.
