Today there are many stories in the news about children getting abused by nannies

and even more stories not necessarily on the news (well unless you are Tiger Woods) about cheating spouses. If you suspect either scenario to be happening in your life, then buying a wireless surveillance camera is a great option for you. After all, it will end or confirm all suspicions since everything will be caught on tape.

With a wireless surveillance camera you have many options to choose from as far as how it looks, and most importantly how much it costs. Lets discuss the first part, how they look. You can buy hidden cameras that look like alarm clocks, pens, watches, mirrors, thermostats, boom boxes, wall clocks, sunglasses, teddy bears and many others. You get the idea though, they look like regular house hold or business items but they have a wireless surveillance camera hidden in them.

Now as far as price on the low end you could spend $100, on the high end $500. The difference depends on whether the camera is color or black and white, whether it has a built in DVR or not, and whether it is high powered or not. High power meaning it has longer range to pick up the signal from the receiver. Below is some additional information on how these hidden cameras work.

A wireless hidden camera has a built in transmitter that sends the video signal to a receiver. The receiver then connects to your recording or viewing device. A wired camera has a video cable that runs from the camera to your recording or viewing device such as a DVR, VCR or monitor.

Not having the cable makes the camera more believable. Personally I wouldnt get anything but the wireless ones, because the wire could give it all away and damage your chance of finding out what you are trying to find out.

Wireless hidden cameras can transmit up to 1,000 feet and high powered ones up to double that at 2500 feet. They are great to spy on what you suspect to be a cheating spouse or a bad nanny. These cameras have also been called nanny cams because of the uses for that purpose. They are great to get the evidence you need and take any legal action necessary with the proof you get from your camera.
