Googles Android powered smart phones and tablets devouring the most share of global mobile market

. Android has turned out to be a leading OS. It rules over almost 70-75 percent of global smart phone market. The remaining 25% is shared by Apples iOS, Microsofts Windows Phone, and RIMs BlackBerry. Android can feed the appetite for innovations and low priced-devices and thus it is able to eat into others turfs. Others are not able to offer what Google has been offering since 2008.

For now, Android runs in 3 smart phones out of four. It surprises, but it is real. Googles Android OS has established its leadership, and it is not going to end any time soon. Android began its journey with slow adoption, but now it is the only choice for many mobile device manufacturers and users. Even mobile developers have begun to respect this operating system. Developers had issues with fragmentation, but now Google has taken some serious steps to prohibit all the issues (the license of its new SDK includes an anti-fragmentation clause that prohibits developers and designers to cause platform fragmentation).

Galaxy S3, an Android powered smart phone by Samsung has overtaken Apples iPhone 4S in third quarter. The Galaxy S3 and other devices have won the title of worlds leading smartphone manufacturer for Samsung, the South Korean Firm. It is all because of Android.

Gartner says that innovation of Android is faster than Apples iOS. Google is fully devoted for its mobile platform and is trying hard to offer an advanced mobile OS. It is an open-source OS. It attracts gadget makers to use the operating system free of cost and add to features that deliver better experience to end-users. This is not possible with a close-source OS like iOS that Apple uses only in its own devices like iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. Apple has tight control over its technology, product, software, hardware and even the online shop for music, books, games or other contents. Many people do not like this.

Android has also earned good reputation among Android developers, device manufacturers and customers. Customers have thousands of choices when it comes to buy an Android powered smartphone or tablet. Also at user end, every Android powered device is generally able to run most of the Google services/products, such as Gmail, YouTube, Maps, Navigation, search engine and applications made for the Android platform. Others like Apple and Microsoft are also offering the similar range of services, but none of them are as popular as offered by Google.
