Google Keywords Method - Finding Better Website Keywords
In all probability one of the most regular questions I get via e-mail relates to getting strong keyword phrases for web sites.
"Jack, how can I get really strong keyword terms for my web page so that I can rank rapidly and get lots of free visits?"
If I've read that inquiry once, I've read it dozens of times...
Here's just one step-by-step method that you can apply to promptly find the better keywords for your website, and get organic search rankings and targeted visits to even the youngest web sites...without expending all of your spare time trying to get it to perform.
Google Keywords Method
There are only 8 easy steps in this step-by-step method, and once you "get the hang" of how this operates, you can complete these steps in less than 5 minutes...and often even less than 60 seconds.
Step 1: Go to www.google.com.
Step 2: Enter your primary topic phrase into the query box...but don't click search yet.
You can pick any theme you like, although selecting larger topics will often bring back many more manageable keyword terms than targeting very long tail keywords.
Step 3: Enter the "magical" Google Keyword value after your keyword term.
Here's the code:
site:ezinearticles.com This article has been viewed 2000..199999? Article Submitted On: * *, 2010?
Essentially, this line of code orders Google that you wish to search over all of the indexed articles at EzineArticles.com, find any articles that have had over 2,000 views, and only accept articles written in 2010.
You will want to experiment by modifying some of the arguments of this string to include unique calendar months, view counts, etc...
Likewise, this tip operates on more than just EzineArticles.com, but you may have to make small changes to the string to get it to function like you desire to...
Step 4: Click Enter.
Google is going to bring back all the search results that meet the criteria you entered. Remember that Google.com ranks these websites based on relevancy...and not view count...so you will need to look over the entire listing to find the highest seen articles.
Step 5: Select the whole website address of the page you would like to analyse to your clipboard.
Step 6: Go to to http://www.semrush.com.
SEMRush is a website that marks the top organic and adwords rankings for millions of keywords. Since they already have the rankings for so many of the top keyword terms, we can look up where are content ranked, and find out which keyword phrases are driving the visitors.
Step 7: Paste the full website url into SEMRush, and choose the Domain option.
Step 8: Note the keywords that your article is ranking organically for.
Don't forget that most article marketers don't spend time locating backlinks or perform any off-page SEO for their articles...so it "ranks or doesn't rank" supported on only than the internal linking of the article directory and the substance of the content.
You'll be able to turn up hundreds of low competition, high search volume keyword terms applying this trick, and can begin ranking for these keyword phrases with your individual content!
