. The term is a tribute to its creator, Larry Page, and refers to a complex mathematics algorithm that allows today's advanced search engines, like Google, to index and rank the millions and millions of pages that exist on the internet today.

The process that is used by Google page rank relies on the somewhat democratic design of the entire internet. Improving your Google page rank can be a long and pain staking process, as reciprocal links, or votes of confidence from well established web sites are often hard to come by. However, by using creative tactics like free banner exchanges and submitting your site to search engine directories, you can start to improve your rank. Another tactic for increasing your rank is to submit articles that link back to your website on free online article directories. These directories are often the source of story ideas for web based authors and bloggers that will often link back to your site as well.
