Prices for a pulse oximeter have dropped from the hundreds of dollars to under one hundred dollars, which proves that competition makes a difference. New types of pulse oximetry products are also introduced via online merchants as well. One example of such a product is the fingertip version of the pulse oximeter. Old versions were mostly either hand held or tabletop units.

The informational age has greatly benefitted consumers, but how can they know what ecommerce store is dependable? There are certain things to look for when determining a good online merchant. The first thing is if their site is secure. This is done by simply looking at the URL address bar. If it is secure, it will have a HTTPS address. A good merchant site will also be very clean and professional looking. If it looks fishy, it probably is.
