Granada is the city of celebrations and is known all over the world for its crowded calendar filled with festivities that continue the whole year

. Some of the most famous events of the year are Feria de Corpus Christi, Dia de la Cruz, Semana Santa, international festival of music and dance and the international jazz festival. The international festival of tango falls in early march where dace competitions are held at various venues including central Granada. Following this event is the international festival of young filmmakers where the youth demonstrates their work and contribution in arts and are also awarded with prizes to admire them.


Dia de la Cruz is celebrated in May in Granada and the whole city is decorated with beautiful flowers and a lot of festivities are conducted which includes traditional dancing and horse riding. International festival of theatre is also held in May and brings participants from all over the world. Good plays are demonstrated for audience during this festival which is held at Isabel la catolica theatre and Alhambra theatre.
