Grant funding means, grants being provided by government for those individuals who need money. Money is meant for setting up business or other monetary work. It helps people to start a prosperous life, by setting up their work. Grant funding may be meant for different needs (business need, scientific needs or research purpose). Grant may be needed by graduate, undergraduate for setting up small, medium or large business. Grants are also needed by professors for undertaking research intentions.

Other main purpose of taking grant may be to study abroad. In this category students are the ones who require money for the sake of pursuing higher studies. Grant funding is also available for purchasing automobile and other household requirements, government also provides grants for building houses. Not only government banks, but private sector banks also provide grant funding. Banks lend money for a fixed period, after that period one has to return the grants. There is a fixed rate of interest on the money to be returned. The actual money which is to be returned is the amount more than the actual money borrowed from banks (due to high rate of interest on returning amount).

It is suitable to contact government banks as; they are more reliable as compared to private banks. Governments lend money by keeping some asset as security (in case the person fails to return the granted money). If the person fails to return money the asset taken as security are overtaken by bank. The concept of grant funding is present in almost all the countries of this world. It actually originated in western countries and then was adopted by developing countries. Grant funding is a useful concept as person in need of money is able to meet his requirements.
