Great Functionality on the Nokia C6
Nokia have introduced a new mobile phone handset into their ranks in the form of the C6, a handset that not only looks great but provides the user with a host of useful features.
The Nokia C6 really seems to be a handset focused on the connectivity side of affairs with an array of facilities to benefit the user whilst on the go. With regards to connecting to the internet, the handset features 3G capabilities with HSDPA 850/900/1900/2100. GPRS and Edge are also available, resulting in a near perfect mobile internet experience. The typical download speed for the Nokia C6 utilising HSDPA is 7.2mbps, very respectable for a mobile handset. WiFi is also catered for on the phone, ultimately offering an even speedier experience when connected to your own router or network. Keeping up to date with your inbox is a breeze thanks to the handset being able to manage upto ten e mail accounts, with push e mail keeping you instantly updated. Local connectivity hasn't been forgotten, with the Nokia offering both Bluetooth and microUSB connectivity. Social Networking fans can take advantage of such a great range of options, with Nokia pre installing apps for both Twitter and Facebook on the phone. If this isn't enough, the C6 has a homescreen that allows you to be updated on friends status updates as they happen, and allows you to instantly update your status to all sites at the same time.
The Nokia C6 certainly scores highly when it comes to the looks. A lot of effort has gone into the design of the handset, and although it looks relatively simple, this minimalist look with its curved edges and sleek lines catches the eye. For what is technically a smartphone, the C6 looks surprisingly small. Measuring 113 x 53 x 16.8mm, it is slightly smaller than the Apple iPhone in both height and width. However the C6 is deeper than many handsets, but this is because it hides away a full Qwerty keypad, superb for quick and easy message writing. The handset is a slider design, and when held in landscape mode the screen slides upwards. Thanks to an accelerometer chip, the unit detects when it is being held in this position and adjusts the screen automatically, allowing for a great widescreen picture on the excellent quality 360 x 640 screen. This display show over 16 million colours, meaning regardless whether its a webpage or a photograph, the image is sharp and colourful.
The Nokia C6 looks like an improved version of the N97. Boasting great screen and excellent connectivity, it is a great alternative to the big hitting Apple and HTC handsets.
The Nokia C6 and the Sony Ericsson Naite Red are coming soon.
