Great Motoring Holidays On The Gold Coast

It doesn't matter whether it is summer or winter there is always a good reason to take a holiday on Queensland's Gold Coast

. At any time of the year why not take the opportunity to jump in your car and head towards the Gold Coast and enjoy the trip of a lifetime. Of course, you'll need to make sure that your car insurance is up-to-date so you can enjoy a hassle free holiday, but after that it's time to hit the open road.

You might think that the Gold Coast is just a collection of great beaches, which alone make the trip worthwhile, but there are plenty of other motoring secrets hidden away in the south-east corner of Queensland surrounding the Gold Coast that offer you some secret motoring delights.

But for starters, let's take a look at some of the great beaches that the Gold Coast has to offer.

Burleigh Heads Beach. Just a few kilometres south of surfers Paradise you will find Burleigh Heads, a favourite destination of Queenslanders for the last 50 years. It is not surprising when you consider that the spectacular headland which marks the southern end of the beach is a national park providing fantastic views to Surfers Paradise and South to the Tweed. Apart from that, the beach itself is always consistently popular because of the regular swell and easy to manage waves that suit families and board riders alike. Take a stroll along the beach to North Burleigh and pop off to the Esplanade for a feed of fish and chips to enjoy on the stroll back. There is nothing more relaxing than munching on a chip and watching the waves curl and roll into the beach.

Rainbow Bay. Located on the border of New South Wales and Queensland, this most southerly beach on the Gold Coast has been a holiday favourite for many years. The swell has always been popular with board riders children also enjoy the relative seclusion which means they can play unhindered by crowds of adults. One of the best things about Rainbow Bay is its close proximity to Coolangatta and its many boutique shops. It's a great way for mums and daughters to get away from the beach and leave surfing to the boys for a while.

If you don't like beaches that much, there are some wonderful destinations in the Gold Coast hinterland just a few minutes drive from the sun kissed beaches.

Springbrook National Park is a short half-hour drive away and in what appears to be the twinkling of an eye you will be away from the hustle and bustle of the beach strip and find yourself strolling through rainforest jungle to the sound of bellbirds and squawking parrots. The parrots themselves are an absolute delight and will gladly approach you if you offer any form of food. Be careful though, some of the bolder birds will use your head as a landing point and they are not afraid to use their claws to gain a good grip!

Do yourself a favour and make sure you have a good auto insurance policy in place and get into the Gold Coast as soon as you can.
