This list contains only four books although according to what I have read

, there were many more books that should be included -mostly about Philosophy and Religion.

Brave New World by Aldous Huxley

A futuristic fiction written in 1932. And like most visions' of the future, it was ridiculed.

Lord of the Flies by William Golding

When you write a book that starred children and the book contains "excessive violence and bad language" (according to Golding's editors), rejection is mostly what you get. This book only sold less than 3,000 copies. But that's not all the story about this book. In fact this is a book success story -the book was eventually reprinted, assigned in classrooms throughout the United States and Golding was dubbed a Nobel Prize Laureate.

The Catcher In The Rye by J.D. Salinger

I like books written by the Baby Boomer Generation but not so much the books written during that generation. It's the magnum opus of the Baby Boomer Generation.' wrote Jacopo della Quercia of the book. But this book was hated because of its vulgar' language.

The novel was included on a 2005 Time Magazine list of the 100 best English-language novels written since 1923 and sold 65,000 copies so far. Another book success story.

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy by J. R. R. Tolkien

Another one of those books that became so popular the author serialized it, cartoon movies based on it, and sold over 200 million copies (Fantasy at that). The manuscript was so rejected at first that Tolkien had to stop reading samples of the book to them on account of negative feedback/hurt feelings.

Then suddenly, the book's popularity in the United States exploded in the 60s so that he was compelled to republish the unauthorized' copy of his book.
