Great Tips To Staying Healthy

The Good Ol' Times..

The Good Ol' Times..

There used to be time when the term "weight loss" was almost unheard of. People ate a lot, as they do now, but they did quite a lot of physically intense labor too. Their day started in early morning hours and ended well into the evening. This physical, hard work involved managing fields: digging, sowing or harvesting. They tilled the soil, rode horses, and took care of their farms and ranches. This amount of work also allowed them to eat whatever they wanted, and as much as they wanted, because they needed all the energy they could get to use throughout the day. However, the world has changed drastically. It has evolved, society's way of life has adapted to the comforts and facilities that modern technology has brought us. However, all these benefits come with a cost as well. Since technology can do so much work now, many people fail to get the adequate amount of physical exercise or labor. In fact, a majority have jobs that require little or no exercise at all - just to sit at a desk or in front of a computer. In other words, things have become too easy for us. Thus, as a result, this lack of exercise has become the root to the arising problem of weight gain, most prominent in cities.

During the period of thoughtless youth it is not such a major concern. The young practically eat nothing and so weight problems do not bother them so much. But as soon as you turn twenty, you start showing signs of weight gain and that too in all the wrong places.

It's not about the hour glass figure or the perfectly sculpted and toned body. It is more about staying fit and remaining healthy to ensure a long, disease free life. Every body knows that those extra pounds spell illness. All over the world people are switching to a healthier life style and the catch line is indeed weight loss. This book is dedicated solely to the cause of losing weight and that too in the most surprising ways you ever heard of. There is only one thing that you have to bear in mind. Weight loss does not happen by itself. There are only two ways to accomplish it...

As you read my articles, I hope that you will discover how you can integrate weight-loss habits into everyday life and obtain your goal of losing those 10 pounds, or even more.

101 "Everyday" Tips for Losing 10 Pounds

1. Drink plenty of water. Our body needs a lot of water so give in to water. Water is not just way to flush out toxin but if you have more water in your body you will generally feel healthier and fitter. This it self will discourage any tendency to gorge. The best thing about water is that is has no calories at all.

2. Start your day with a glass of water. As soon as you wake up, gulp down a glass of cool water. It's a wonderful way to start you day and you only need a lesser quantity of your breakfast drink after that. A glass of water lets out all your digestive juices and sort of lubricates the insides of your body. You may have your morning cup of tea but have it after a glass of water. It is good for you.

3. Drink a glass of water prior to each meal. The water will help you feel full and hydrate you at the same time, so it will prevent you from stuffing yourself.

4. Drink another glass of water with your meals. This is another way to make yourself feel full and eat less. Don't drink it all at once; take sips in between each bite to help lubricate your food and help it settle down faster.

Sidenote: Water is such a remarkable thing, but seldom do we give it the credit that it deserves. Did you know that over 66% of your body weight is nothing but water? It's amazing! Water also plays a vital role in weight control, which is why I donated so much space to it, above.

5. Avoid anything kind of beverage that has excess sugar, particularly soda. All soda and carbonated drinks (except for club soda) are sweetened with sugar or corn syrup, which contains loads of calories. The less sugary drinks you consume, the better. If you find yourself craving for a soda, try flavored seltzers - they contain the flavor but none of the sugar.

6. Incorporate foods that consist of lots of water into your diet, such as tomatoes and watermelons. These two foods contain 90 to 95 % water, which allows you to be full without adding extra pounds.

7. Eat fresh fruit rather than drinking fruit juice. Juice is often sweetened but fresh fruits have natural sugar, called fructose. In addition, when you eat fresh fruit, you are taking in a lot of fiber and a variety of vitamins that can get lost in the juicing process.

8. If you feel like you need fruit juice, choose fresh fruit juice instead of brands that contain artificial coloring and flavors. The best alternative is to try making your own fruit juice, so that you know it will not have any extra sugar or artificial ingredients and that it will be very fresh.

9. Choose fresh fruit to processed fruits. Processed and canned fruits do not have as much fiber as fresh fruit and processed and canned fruits are nearly always sweetened.

10. Increase the fiber intake in your diet. The body requires a lot of fiber to process the foods you consume, so try to include as many fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet, particularly those that are rich in fiber.
