A few years back I was looking for a cheap second hand car which would help me get to where I want and would be very easy on my pocket. Finally I settled with a old model of 95 civic. These cars are really helpful when it comes to saving you money. My car has hardly required any major parts change other than changing the O2 sensor and few other minor parts and has saved me some major cash because of its fuel efficiency.
This car easily goes to 35 mpg in city areas and to over 40 on the highway. I have even been able to take it to long trips from new york to texas and throughout the journey it was zero trouble from this car. While going for a second hand car make sure that you double check all the major parts as this was a major trouble with one of my friends who got a bad deal by getting substandard parts. With my car I have put around 200k miles in the past few years and the entire experience has been hassle free. One of the major benefits of this is that when you go for upgrades you will get the maximum bang for the buck because of the cheap availability of upgrades and parts. Now that it is quite old probably I might give it away to someone but the total experience with these has been very great.
Soon I might go with a hybrid car as I have seen that the overall money you save with these gas sippers is really good and can go a long way in getting financial stability. Besides this it is also important to do a double check while getting a used car as some times it so happens that they are not properly taken care of and can cause huge maintenance issues really soon. One of my friends got into this problem and in the end had to dump his vehicle. Other than this it is great to have these fuel efficient cars.
