Greek Hotels On A Mediterranean Holiday
Greece is a country with many hotels
Greece is a country with many hotels. It is one of the most popular tourist spots in the world with no signs of slowing down; in fact the tourism industry is experiencing a 10% annual growth for the past decades. It is the site of the first Olympic Games and the recent holding of this big event there plus the Eurovision Song Contest only refocused the world's attention to the country.
Where there are tourists, there are hotels, and with tourists visiting the country continuously, there is a constant demand for more hotels. As a result, the quality of hotels in the country varies widely. For example, Greek hotels are categorized alphabetically, with Category "A" as the equivalent of the five star hotels. The basis for the ranking also differs somewhat because other factors are taken into consideration like the size of rooms; and what happens is that some lower ranked hotels are actually more luxurious than the supposedly higher rated ones.
There are lots and lots of things you should look for when choosing a hotel. Take a look at the facilities. Is there any building work going on? Are there restrictions on children? What kind of rooms are there? What is its proximity to the tourist spots? Try to conjure up other things you might need to know. Most of your questions can be answered by websites that are dedicated to featuring and reviewing hotels all over the world, and you can also visit the websites of each particular hotel.
Greece is not considered as an English speaking country so you can make arrangements only with the big hotels and will have communication problems with the smaller ones. Smaller hotels will often rely on agencies to act as a go-between and translate into Greek for them, which can push up the cost of staying there.
Make arrangements for your hotel accommodation before leaving for the country and do not leave anything to chance. Remember that Greece is a tourist spot with visitors year round so hotels are always fully occupied and chances are slim that you will get a room that will meet your standard, and you can well end up spending countless hours just trying to find a place to stay. It is a simple matter and a prudent move on your side to arrange a hotel booking before boarding a plane.
