Everyone knows, or should know, that green brochure printing is not publishing a green colored pamphlet or printing with green ink

. Green is the term used for environmentally friendly printing and other Earth friendly endeavors. People who are concerned with the planet are using reusable and recyclable resources as much as they can in order to help save the planet for as long as they can. There is a movement that begins with the tree and ends with the delivery of the pieces of paper that makes sure a publishing or printing company will reduce their carbon footprint as much as possible.

In using eco-friendly materials and products, a publishing and print company will help the Earth as well as their customers, especially if the customers continue the good work by recycling the print materials. Finding a sustainable forest provider for their paper product is a good way to begin the process of accountability in saving the planet. The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification or PEFC is one non-profit organization that is also nongovernmental and independently run. They want to help people understand what sustainability management in the forest is and they use a third-party certification in the test process of paper.

Another organization that helps with the sustainable forestation is the FSC, Forest Stewardship Council. This organization serves as an inventory control system which verifies the source of printing papers and tracking them from beginning to end. When most people who are purchasing printed papers and they want an environmental alternative, they want to be sure that their print company is doing everything they can to be green. These organizations were established in order to keep the green initiative going strong and on the right path.

VOC emissions or volatile organic compounds need to be reduced so that they meet the new principles for green initiatives and the new requirements for the print industry. Dry toner-base from electro-photographic systems are the best choice because they do not contain the harmful VOC's, low molecular weight components or solvents which can make them more harmful to inkjet toners and solvent-based liquids in respect to recycling paper and the VOC's.

Canada has been experimenting with another source for paper. Instead of chopping down their forests, they have been harvesting their wheat crops. Using the stalk, stem and all the waste of the grain produce from farming, manufacturers can produce paper from wheat that is textually no different then the forest-friendly kind. The main difference is the wheat, as long as someone is farming, is a renewable resource for paper, whereas the forest is not necessarily.

In regards to recyclability, dry toner, mostly used for digital color printing procedures, is widely suitable as de-inkable, this is a method in which the ink is divided from the paper pulp during recycling. UV inks and liquid toner become too big, too small or too elastic to skim away from the paper pulp during the recycling process. This is the ink that many printing companies are using although some are switching to a vegetable based ink which helps in the decomposition process in case someone does not recycle.

The fact that a regular publishing or print company could be cheaper might be thought of first for a major or large print job, however, if one is interested in saving the planet and doing their part, they might consider a green brochure printing company. Eco-friendly companies feel better about their choices and so do their customers when they know they are purchasing a good quality recycled or reusable piece of paper.
