If your like me, you may think living a green lifestyle maybe a difficult or even an impossible feat, to incorporate into your daily life. Newsflash, if I can do it, you can too!.

I was the Anti-green, Energy consumer in my household. Until one day I realized I wasn't being a good example to my kids.

Not because I wanted to be a greenie, but I didn't want my kids to see me as a wasteful consumer. I'm not perfect and far from the greenest person on the planet.

I would like to share with you, a few easy tips; that you can try to implement in your life that may help you as well.

Remember, it only takes a spark to get a fire going.

One step in the right direction can make a big difference for our kids future.

Chose one or two of these steps an try to work them into your daily routine.

You will be surprised within 30 days of what you have accomplished. Happy Greening!

1. Turn off the faucet

When you brush your teeth, don't let the water run while you brush

2. Turn off the lights

Turn off the lights when you leave the room

3. Purchase energy efficient light bulbs

You will see a difference in your electricity bill

4. Unplug the power cords

Unplug the cell phone, lamps, computers and small appliance's when you are not using them

5. Recycle, Recycle, Recycle

Toss cans, newspapers and other recyclables into the recycle bin provided by your garbage company.

6. Plant a garden

It doesn't have to be big. A container garden will do!

I have a container/pot garden on my deck. There's nothing like needing onions, herbs, lettuce or tomatoes, and being able to walk out the back door an pick them yourself.

Your grocery bill will drop significantly in the summer months.

7. Walk, Bus or Ride

Walk, Bus Or ride your bike into work. Its relaxing and your saving energy. Bring a good book with you and unwind on your way to or from work.

8. Take a Technology Break

Give your electronics a day off. Take the family on a hike, go for a bike ride,have a picnic, enjoy nature and the blessings that God has created. Life will go on, if you don't answer your cell phone.

The world will not end if you miss your favorite show.

9. Grill Out!

Us the charcoal grill instead of the electric oven this summer. Heat veggies on the stove instead of the microwave.

10. Learn from your kids!

You will be amazed at how much your kids already know about this stuff. They can teach you.

My 6 year old daughter comes rushing into the bathroom when I'm brushing my teeth to turn off the faucet!
