There are many simple ways to save energy in and around the home, but the best way forward is to make energy saving a daily habit. Instead of putting your machinery and equipment on standby, it would be best to switch off completely and save more energy.

The average household can stand t gain $60 a year simply by leaving appliances on standby. While using a kettle, boil only as much water as you need and never more. Also remember to cover pots and pans when cooking so as to sace power and to let it boil a lot quicker. Defrost your freezer regularly and let your food cool before putting it in the fridge or freezer. Using a microwave rather than a conventional oven to heat up a small portions of food is sure to save you energy.

Washing clothes at 86 degrees can be just as effective for a normally soiled load. As lighting is said to account for more than 40% of the commercial sectors electricity consumption, it makes up nearly 20 percent of all electricity used in the United States. Building owners and homeowners need to adopt energy efficient lamps to light their properties. Not only does this present a great opportunity for electricians, it also presents a great opportunity for us to cut back electricity expenditures.
